Pechstein Beam Reinforcement Project

In 2018, the District conducted a comprehensive seismic and structural evaluation of its largest reservoir, Pechstein. Results of the evaluation concluded that some components of the roof were structurally deficient. To remedy the deficiencies and prolong the life of the reservoir roof, District forces have installed 5 of 13 planned support braces to the largest beams that support the roof framing. An additional 8 beam support braces will be installed to support the roof until full replacement can occur. Pechstein reservoir was constructed in the mid 70’s and holds a maximum of 20 million gallons of water.
