Water bills mailed on or after April 1, 2022 will reflect changes to the water rate structure and increases to the water rates and service charge to recover, but not exceed, the cost of providing water service. These costs include, but are not limited to, water purchases from the District’s wholesale supplier, the Water Authority, system operation and maintenance, facility and equipment maintenance, system rehabilitation, regulatory compliance, metering, billing, conservation and account management. For a detailed analysis of how the District determined the new water rate structure and water rates, please see the Vista Irrigation District 2021 Water Rate Study below.
A typical residential customer’s bill (3/4” meter and 24 units/bi-monthly billing) will increase by 6.49 percent; the service charge and water usage charge portions of the bill are increasing by 3.39 percent and 8.70 percent respectively. Below are links to two documents; one showing the financial impact of the changes to the water structure and the increases to the water rates and service charge on a typical residential customer and the other showing the full rate and fee schedule effective April 1, 2022.
