Delegation from China Visits Vista Irrigation District (October 25, 2016)
The Vista Irrigation District hosted a delegation from Changchun, a city in northeastern China that is located about 600 miles from the capital, Beijing. Staff presented information about the district’s water resources and water management strategies.
Board President Richard Vásquez and district staff welcomed representatives from the Changchun Water Group Corporation and the Changchun Municipal Peoples’ Government. The Changchun Water Group Corporation serves a population of just over 3.6 million people.
“We are honored that the delegation from Changchun visited the Vista Irrigation District to learn about our district as well how we maintain and replace pipelines to minimize water loss,” said general manager Eldon Boone. “Our discussions showed that providing a safe, reliable water supply to customers is a challenge faced by water agencies around the world.”
