San Pasqual Undergrounding Project

The San Pasqual Undergrounding Project is a project to remove, relocate and replace about 2.5 miles of the Escondido Canal, a City of Escondido facility, that crosses the San Pasqual Indian Reservation.  The Escondido Canal is part of the local water system that conveys water from Lake Henshaw, which Vista Irrigation District owns and operates, to the jointly-owned Escondido-Vista Water Treatment Plant where it is treated and then delivered to the District’s service area via the Vista Flume. Project costs are being paid for equally by City of Escondido and Vista Irrigation District.
