The arrival of spring means longer days, warmer weather, and the increased need for landscape irrigation. The Vista Irrigation District would like to remind its customers that now is a perfect time to make sure that their irrigation systems are in in good working order and are applying the appropriate amount of water for their plants’ needs. Check out these spring landscape maintenance tips.

·         Set your irrigation clock ahead an hour and check your irrigation timer’s batteries when daylight saving time begins.

·         Turn on your irrigation system to check for leaks, over-spray, water pressure issues, or broken irrigation components.

·         Consider aerating your lawn to increase water infiltration.

·         Add 2” to 4” of mulch around trees & plants to reduce evaporation and weeds.
